The PPMA is keen to create an environment where talent can shine, and to offer opportunities for everyone to learn, grow and stretch themselves. Through participating in one of our talent programmes, organisations are telling their applicants that they have the potential skills and qualities to be a future leader in the Public Sector.

These event are all about identifying and showcasing the tremendous breadth and depth of emerging talent that we have in the Public Sector.

We have a number of programmes on offer for those working in various points in their careers:

Peer into the Future

This programme is designed for senior HR and OD professionals who are operating at a strategic level in their organisation and who are at, or aspire to be at, HR Director level. The Peer programme is delivered in 7 one-day modules, the programme is run with interaction between participants as required with inputs in each module from a diverse range of experienced HR/OD Directors, Chief Executives and senior subject matter experts from multiple sectors.

This programme will help you to gain a greater understanding of how HR/OD can maximise its contribution to the overall success of your organisation and the sector and will enable you to:

  • Boost your confidence to be an effective voice in senior leadership debates, offering strategies that align to business priorities.
  • Consider future models of service delivery; joint ventures, shared arrangements, mutuals and new companies.
  • Showcase innovative practice and debate the differing approaches to managing change across the sector.
  • Understand the behaviours, skills and competences required by senior HR leaders in delivering HR/OD in the future.
  • Build a network of peers for sharing practice and current challenges. Be part of the Alumni to continue the good practice insights

HR Rising Star

The PPMA Rising Star event is for applicants who have had at least 5 years operating as an HR professional and now looking to take the step into a senior HR role at some point in the near future. The competition has been designed to test your personal qualities in a range of activities, whilst at the same time helping you to enhance your confidence and resilience.

One to Watch

The PPMA One to Watch event has been designed for applicants at the early stage of their HR professional career and to test your personal qualities in a range of activities, whilst at the same time helping you to enhance your confidence and resilience. We hope that participating in this competition will encourage individuals to achieve more than they thought possible in their career.

Apprentice of the Year

Apprentice of the Year event has been designed to test personal qualities in a range of activities, whilst at the same time helping individuals to enhance your confidence and resilience. We hope that participating in this competition it will encourage confidence and enable greater achievement in the participants careers.
