Hello PPMA members and friends

We continue our 50 Stories for 50 Years Campaign celebrating our 50th Anniversary with some reflections from Real World Group’s Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe and Juliette Alban-Metcalfe. In this post, they look back on their long-standing relationship with the PPMA, sharing memorable moments and key highlights from their journey with us.

As the PPMA (Public Services People Managers Association) marks its 50th anniversary, we are proud to reflect on our long-standing strategic partnership and the many special moments we’ve shared. Since 2010, we have been privileged to work alongside this dedicated and passionate community, witnessing first-hand the impact of its members in shaping the future of public sector leadership.

Professor Beverly Alimo-Metcalfe has particularly cherished her time working with the Peer into the Future programme. Each year, she has had the pleasure of meeting extraordinary individuals, leaders of the future who bring innovation, dedication, and a deep commitment to making a difference and elevate public service leadership. Their energy and vision have been a continual source of inspiration.

Juliette Alban Metcalfe recalls with great fondness the many PPMA events, where she had the honour of delivering keynote speeches and engaging with colleagues and partners. The PPMA has always stood out as an organisation filled with talented, committed professionals who are deeply passionate about their work. Juliette has enjoyed judging the PPMA awards over the years an opportunity to witness the outstanding talent and creativity that thrives within this sector. Seeing the innovative approaches and dedication of nominees is a reminder of the incredible impact HR and OD professionals have on public service.

Here’s to the next 50 years of inspiring leadership and positive change!
