Find out more about this years programme
The 2023 PPMA Apprentice of the Year event is designed for all levels of Apprenticeships to test your personal qualities in a range of development activities, whilst at the same time helping you to enhance your confidence and resilience.
We hope that participating in this development programme will encourage you to achieve more than you thought possible in your career.
The PPMA is keen to create an environment where talent can shine, and to offer opportunities for everyone to learn, grow and stretch themselves. Through your participation, your organisation is telling you that you have the potential skills and qualities to be a future leader in the Public Sector. It will be up to you to make the most of this unique experience and to cherish your networks online and offline over the coming months and years.
This event is all about identifying and showcasing the tremendous breadth and depth of emerging talent that we have in the Public Sector and is open to all apprentices from any public service area.
Given the breadth of apprenticeship levels, we have decided to have two awards this year – one for Intermediate/Advanced Apprenticeships (Levels 2 & 3) and one for Higher/Degree Apprenticeships (levels 4 to 7).
Who can take part?
Our programme is open to all Apprentices across public service organisations, whatever your age. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experience. Our most recent programme was hugely over subscribed and had participants from NHS, Local Government and Central Government organisations.
.How will the competition works?
To be part of the programme please complete the application form which you can download below and send it to [email protected] by Wednesday 1st March 2023. Shortlisting will then take place and successful applicants will be notified and invited to attend an assessment.
The Master Class and Assessment
Successful applicants will be invited to take part in a two-day online programme which includes a master class and assessment of individual and group activities and presentations.
The first day is a master class in communication techniques and will be held on Monday 13th March 2023. We will provide you with additional guidance, support and coaching for the remainder of the programme.
The assessment will take place on either Tuesday 4th April or Wednesday 5th April 2023 (we run the assessment day twice to accommodate numbers). We will then select the finalists who will be invited to present to the Judging Panel on 17th April 2023.
