About the Region

The South East region makes up one of largest PPMA regions consisting of the East of England, Southern counties and London and also the most populous.

The region is known for its countryside, which includes the North Downs and the Chiltern Hills as well as two national parks: the New Forest and the South Downs. The River Thames flows through the region and its basin is known as the Thames Valley.

The PPMA membership in the south-east reflects a range of public services and organisations that support public services along with many London Boroughs which makes it our largest demographic of members.

Local Issues Impacting the Region

The South East has huge potential but also faces significant challenges.  There is a need for more devolved powers and investment to ensure it continues to prosper not only for the benefit of it’s local communities & businesses, but also the national economy.
