Joint NHS and PPMA OD Conference

PPMA is delighted to confirm that a key focus of our efforts in this coming year will be to enhance and extend our current relationships with our colleagues in Health. For many of us, working with Health is a critical part of our day to day jobs and there are a key range of strategic and operational challenges we have to deal with together.

Working collaboratively with Health colleagues is absolutely essentially if we are going to success in tackling the very serious challenges of Integration, diminishing social care budgets and the impact of Brexit on our workforces. As part of our increasing partnership working and networking, we are pleased to be able to invite PPMA Members to an upcoming NHS OD conference (date to be confirmed).

For those of you not aware, NHS Employers Organisation runs the “Do OD” programme. “Do OD” is the expert resource on organisational development for the NHS, delivered by NHS Employers in partnership with the NHS Leadership Academy.

The NHS have an annual two day Organisational Development conference coming up in July and we are delighted to let you know that this year they would like to extend the invitation to local government colleagues working in the health and social care agenda to a joint event on one of the days. The target group for this event would be senior OD colleagues working in health and social care.

The purpose would be to provide an opportunity to bring together colleagues to collaborate on common challenges and consider potentially new OD interventions to support our organisations locally.

To help us plan for this, there are 2 things we would like you to do:

  • Please forward this note to senior OD practitioners working in the field of health and social care who would most immediately benefit from attending this event.
  • Complete the attached survey – this will help us get your ideas and a sense of the level of interest in running this event https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DoODPPMA2017. More information on dates and the content of the event will then be provided in due course. There will be small charge to participants to cover the costs of this event.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Kerry Furness, OD Manager at Norfolk County Council and PPMA Board Member
