After a month of frantic canvassing via Twitter, Facebook, on-line debates, and features in national press, Ellie Goddard, Senior HR Officer, East Sussex County Council was voted PPMA's HR Rising Star 2013.  Ellie's victory won her a non-voting member of the PPMA Board for the next year and an i-Pad.

The event generated amazing interest with over 600 votes cast far exceeding our expectations and was a reflection of the outstanding work of the three finalists.  Many congratulations are also extended to the two runners up, Ashley Longhurst, Northampton Borough Council and Melissa Ewbank, Hertfordshire County Council.  A number of the 2013 Rising Stars attended the PPMA conference to promote the event and share their experience of the competition.

Thank you to our partners Manpower and LGA for their generosity which enabled the event to take place.  Well done to all who took part and it demonstrated that the future of HR in the public sector is very healthy vibrant.

If you think you have what it takes, or you know a Rising Star of the future watch out later in the year for the launch of the 2014 event later in the year!
