She is an ardent advocate for mentoring, and in December 2018 won the inaugural UK Universities Best Mentor award. She co-founded the Cross Government Social Mobility Network in 2016, and is a Trustee for a children’s charity (CHICKS) providing holiday opportunities for under privileged children. She is passionate about cricket and her lifelong ambition is to watch a game in every test venue in the world.
