A Double Win at the PPMA Apprentice of the Year 2018!
What an occasion this year’s PPMA Public Sector Apprentice of the Year proved to be!
So much talent radiated from the two days of coaching and competition at Leeds University on 27/ 28 March 2018, that our judging panel were unable to differentiate between two outstanding future leaders…so, the decision was made to break with traditional and celebrate two winners for 2018!
Kara Sutton representing Bradford City Council and Josh Pimm representing Somerset County Council jointly lifted the title. That in no way diminishes the brilliance of the other exceptional Apprentices who all show cased their skills and abilities brilliantly. We were blown away by their individual talent but equally by their kindness and compassion for each other.
It has been fantastic to work with, and getting to know, a group of young people at the start of their careers, all bursting with enthusiasm to learn, demonstrating an ability to grow, and passion for working in the public sector – what a privilege – and thanks to you all! Everyone was a great ambassador for their organisations and have bright futures ahead of them.
We’re thrilled to announce that Leatham Green, who is Interim PPMA Executive Director and Policy Board Lead on Talent, will be sharing the main stage with Josh, Kara, as well as our winners from the PPMA’s One to Watch – Matt, and Lisa – HR Rising Star, at this year’s PPMA Conference to held on 19 and 20 April and The Sage, Newcastle / Gateshead – we can’t wait – we can guarantee you will be dazzled and amazed by their talent!
