The PPMA is delighted to confirm the arrangements for the PPMA Annual Seminar for 2017. We are returning to the Mercure Grand Hotel in Bristol, where the highly successful 2015 conference was held. The 2017 conference starts on Thursday April 27th and finishes Friday 28th April. The agenda is jam packed and we really hope that all of you will make the effort to attend for both full days if you can.
The focus of this year’s Conference is HR & OD’s ability to operate in an ever changing landscape. With Brexit looming large for the UK as a whole and public sector specific challenges already front and centre, 2017 promises to keep us occupied and stretched.
We’ve put together a very full conference agenda for you. We’ve developed key three themes and are finalising the detailed timings for each day and of course our speakers and panellists. The full conference brochure/programme is now available and can be downloaded here.
A quick overview of the three themes are as follows:
Public Sector Landscape Themes
These important sessions are designed to offer HR & OD colleagues as wide a view on the key strategic issues impacting our sector as much as possible.
Ensuing that we understand our organisations is absolutely critical if we are to be the best advisors we can be.
HR & OD Professional Themes
These sessions are designed to update your professional development and knowledge of key HR issues.
We will cover a broad range of subjects including HR’s role in improving productivity to Emotional Intelligence and innovation. We need to learn to be constantly creative with the little resources we have.
The sessions look at the key issues, areas of practice that underpin our day to day work.
For example, we will look at the 21st century public servant and how some organisations have been bringing this research to life. We cover digital and what it means to improve services, to resilience and wellbeing and our role in supporting others.
For each of the themes, there are a choice of sessions – we’ve made as many as possible open for all of you to attend. Please have a look at the sessions – we will be publishing a final detailed agenda but hopefully the session outlines are clear in the meantime.The agenda announcement is earlier than normal, but we think you will agree that the packed agenda and importance of the issues will mean you’ll need time to plan your diaries well in advance.
