The stage is set and the players are coming together to create a space for learning, debating, networking and conferring for people professionals in public service. We are developing an exciting agenda based on key areas of concern and interest to colleagues across public services.
Key speakers and workshop leads include: Lucy Adams from Disruptive HR (formerly HRD at the BBC) with a focus challenging HR and leading change; John Henderson, CEX at Staffordshire, on the move into local government from a very senior role in the military and what he sees as the strengths and challenges of leading a large authority and what HR can do to help; professor Guy Daly from Coventry University on health and social care integration and workforce issues; Martin Cresswell from Impower on cultural dynamics and Paul Medd from Fenland DC on issues for districts and boroughs.
The emphasis for the two day event will be on collaborative working, workshops and good practice from across the sector. Workshops will focus on the Future of Local Government; The Social Workplace; Cross Sector Collaboration and Health Integration; Business Intelligence; Data, HR and the hard stuff; The Pay and Reward Edit; Service redesign, early intervention and demand management; Wellbeing – Juice for thought; and Engaging for Transformation. There will be ‘hackathons’ ahead of the conference on each of the eight workshops to capture ideas ahead and to ensure that the agenda is live and of value to you.
Alongside our talent showcase, the awards dinner and some structured networking contributions from leading experts and practitioners, examples of good practice and lots of learning to take away are set to make the event lively, engaging, brim-full of useful stuff and a chance to meet with colleagues to energise and focus on the challenges ahead for HR and OD.
