Being and staying well

We also know that many of you will be focused on supporting emergency and contingency planning to ensure key services can continue to run.  But being well and staying well for all of our public service colleagues is a critical priority.

We have curated a set of resources that you can use to support your colleagues. We hope you find them helpful.  But we also encourage you to share resources that you think our colleagues would be interested in.

Before we share the resources, here’s a thought.  The most simple think we can do is to say Thank You.  The effects are profound (graphic from Civility Saves Lives.

Mindfulness Session – Special Guests

We are very pleased to be welcoming a series of special guests to our Mindfulness session, details of upcoming and past guests can be found below. If you would like more information about our daily morning mindfulness session or wish to join you can find full details in the blue box on the right hand side of this page.

On Friday 22nd May we were delighted to welcome John a professional sound healer practitioner for this session, who has agreed to introduce us to some simple sound healing techniques that will promote deep relaxation.

  • Sound healing is recognised as an aid to deep relaxation, increased energy flow and is a way to still the mind.
  • Feel more connected to your inner core.
  • This is a gentle, refined and subtle form of healing which works holistically – on mind, body and spirit.
  • Feel more relaxed, calmer, happier, more energised and in balance.

Disclaimer: PPMA is a membership association for public service HR & OD professionals. We do not attempt to provide scientific analysis or interpretation.  Our aim with these pages is to provide the most comprehensive view of available and relevant Co-vid 19 resources for our community. We will keep these materials as up to date as resources permit.

Taking care of you – daily mindfulness practice

Whilst you are taking care of your leaders, manager and colleagues, we want to take care of your too.

We will be leading a daily mindfulness session for the foreseeable future. This meditation will be open to PPMA and non PPMA members.  Our intention is to offer a safe space to set a positive intention for your day and equip you with techniques to develop resilience, increase mindfulness practice and enable a sense of peace.  Leatham Green will run the sessions and over the next months we will have guest leads too.

The sessions will be held for 30 minutes Monday to Friday starting at 07:45 GMT.  Each day will have a particular focus:

  • Monday: Body Scan
  • Tuesday: Living with Kindness and Compassion in the Time of Coronavirus
  • Wednesday: Steadying Your Mind
  • Thursday:  Love Intentionally, Extravagantly, on Purpose
  • Friday: Mindfully Embracing Realistic Optimism

We know that there are multiple benefits of meditation.

The sessions are digitally enabled via Zoom.  If you are not able to join us live we will be posting recordings of each session on this page so that you can still listen to them.

To join the live sessions, please click on the following link here at 7.45am GMT Monday to Friday:

Blessings to all of you.
