Local Government Association

The LGA Workforce team provides a national focus on the key interests that councils share as employers. Pay, conditions and pension negotiations for local government, schools, fire and police staff are at the core of our work.

We aim also to lead strategic thinking on the future development of the workforce in a challenging environment, including through influencing Government. We look after the sector’s interests in European and national discussions on employment law and provide specialist advice and consultancy.
