DESCRIPTION:As the UK’s leading members’ network for local government and public sector professionals, Solace works relentlessly to ensure diverse talent is encouraged, supported, nurtured, and recognised across Local Government.\nSo far progress towards this goal has been disjointed. A new and stronger intervention is required to shine a light on understanding and improving equality, diversity, and inclusion structures within Local Government.\nIn this webinar Solace will be launching our Statement of Intent, which outlines our commitments to address a lack of diversity across our sector, its structures, and in senior leadership levels.\nWe will also be presenting the outcome of our report into workforce diversity across local government which was undertaken in partnership with Zurich Municipal and Shared Intelligence.\nThis report draws on publicly available information for the 152 Metropolitan Districts, County Councils, London Boroughs and Unitary Authorities in England and is supported by case studies from a selection of local authorities. It shines a spotlight on data collection and good practice with a focus on ethnicity and race.\nAs well as presenting the report summary, next steps and recommendations, this session will provide you with a chance to hear from colleagues, representing a cross section of the sector, outline the challenges they have faced during their career in local government.\n
