PPMA response to Government review of the Equality and Human Rights Commission
The attached response to the consultation on the review of the EHRC has been prepared on behalf of the PPMA Diversity Network. The Commission has a key place in the delivery of equalities and it is important that the wider membership has an opportunity to contribute their views and experience to influence our response.
Comments are invited on the attached draft pro- forma response and the draft cover letter. Particular comment is requested on the proposals for the future provision of information and advice and on the use of the proposed new funding stream to support civil society organisations to promote equalities and human rights. In both cases there may be useful local experience of new models of working that should inform our response.
The consultation ends very soon on Wednesday 15 June so please let Roger Manning ( r.m@iname.com) have your comments by 5pm on Tuesday 14 June so that a response can be finalised by the deadline.
