Hutton review of fair pay in the public sector - call for evidence
On 19th July, the Will Hutton Review of Fair Pay in the Public Sector, which was set up by the Chancellor in June (see previous update), issued a call for evidence, inviting views from all interested parties on issues around fairness in pay.
Announcing the call for evidence, Will Hutton said: “Ahead of my interim report in the autumn, I will be developing a definition of fair pay and exploring the benefits of fairness in pay and in the processes by which pay is determined. I will be examining the evidence on pay dispersion in both public and private sectors, and the relationships between the two. I would like to invite the evidence and views of experts and interested parties as I do this.”
Representations from all interested parties are invited. A suggested list of questions against which representations can be made has been published, and respondents are invited to address any of these questions where they feel they can make a contribution, as well as offering any further comments they may have.
These questions can be viewed at by following this link: Call for Evidence: suggested list of questions
