TIMETABLE OF EMPLOYMENT LEGISLATION 2010
The timetable attached sets out, as far possible, the key items of employment legislation intended for introduction during 2010. Whilst the government has, in previous years, introduced new legislation to take effect in April and October, 2010 looks more complicated. First (and obviously) 2010 is an election year, so that any proposals due to be implemented after June could be subject to change. There could also, potentially, be new legislation introduced in the second half of the year which cannot be anticipated at this stage. Second, there are a number of proposals due to be implemented in the first half of the year for which the government has yet to specify a firm commencement date.
