Annual report 2009

Unfortunately, due to a variety of reasons including the departure of our former Chair to another Region, there has been little activity in the South East Region during the last year. However, that is about to change! With the support of Dean Shoesmith, London Region Chair and Vice President elect, and other PPMA officers we are working on the development and implementation of a “recovery programme”. Regional members have been approached to be part of a core group and work is underway to define the USP for the PPMA within the Region and put in place a range of supporting actions. A lot of enthusiasm has been generated and, by the time this report is published, we hope to have secured the election of new regional officers to take these forward.

We are also seeking to establish greater collaboration with our neighbours in the London and Southern Regions, who have kindly extended invitations to us to their respective events.

The Region is also pleased that members are active within two PPMA policy groups, i.e. Pensions, and Pay and Reward. More recently, we were delighted to nominate two further members to represent the Region in a shared capacity on the Diversity Network.

Regional members clearly see the PPMA as a good vehicle to enable and support partnership working across public sector organisations. We are looking forward to an interesting programme of action in 2009/10.
