Annual Report

The Region has had a turbulent year since winning Region of the Year 2007.

Alyson Doyle, the long-standing chair, stood down when she took the opportunity of moving into consultancy in the summer of 2008.

Catherine Wilson, Deputy Chair, took over the running, however a new opportunity in Northampton meant that she also stood down in November 2008. A new chair is currently being elected to and it is hoped they will be in place by the conference in May 09.

However work did continue. The HR Development Gateway continued from strength to strength in partnership with NWEO. A regional development day was organised at the start of the summer that was well supported.

The annual Northern Personnel Briefing was help in September 2008 and as always was fully subscribed. The region sponsored this event.

It is hope that after a turbulent year, the North West, with a new chair, can have a positive 2009 under a new chairmanship – to be announced.
