Policy Leads

If you decide to join PPMA, we hope you will contribute your ideas to one or more of our themed policy lead areas.  Each theme is led by a lead policy officer whose responsibilities include:

  • To create an effective community of practice and/or network of members to support the delivery of the policy theme, working with other professional bodies and organisations involved with HR/OD best practice and public services, as appropriate.

  • To work with the Policy Board to develop PPMA policy, products and services for the benefit of the PPMA membership and reflecting the views of the PPMA membership.

  • To develop and prepare responses to consultation exercises on behalf of the Association.

Our current list of policy lead areas, or topics, are:

  • Diversity
  • Emergency Services
  • European Employment Legislation and Affairs
  • HR Transformation
  • Leadership and Organisational Development
  • Pay and Reward
  • Pensions
  • Talent Management
  • Wellbeing, Job Creation and Worklessness
  • Workforce Strategy

We also have a smaller number of policy lead areas that are focussed upon our needs as an Association, the direct engagement of our membership and the benefits and services of being a member:

  • Membership Engagement and CPD

  • Communications

  • PPMA Shires Network
